Each year at the Toastmasters International Convention, the International President announces recipients for a Presidential Citation. This citation is presented to members who have shown continual support and dedication to the organization. Recipients of this citation are selected at the sole discretion of the International President.
My key roles were to offer guidance, support, encouragement, and motivate District leaders to achieve the District Mission of building new clubs and helping all clubs achieve excellence. Additionally, the Region Advisor is there to mentor and facilitate discussions, conduct training, and provide support for the District Leadership Team. A Region Advisor should also make significant impact on the individuals they support and by extension, assist in the success of the District. I was responsible for 4 Districts on the west coast of the United States.
Toastmasters Program, District Director District 47- 07/2017 - 06/2018
As District Director, I was responsible for directly overseeing and managing the District’s day-to-day operations, finances, and human resources. I was responsible for a team of District leaders to ensure they fulfill their responsibilities. My responsibility was to empower my District leadership team to work together toward the District mission, while supporting each one in his or her development as a leader. Oversee the planning of the District Conference, the District Training of Club officers, District contests and events.
Responsible for the marketing programs for 7 districts in the Caribbean and the United States. Create and implement a successful marketing campaign, brand identification, recruitment and retention methodologies, create corporate relationships (e.g., cold calls, closing sales, relationship building and corporate visits). Identify Marketing strengths and needs of each district. Assess district needs and develop improved marketing strategies with the leaders. Travel to each District to provide successful marketing training programs to the officers of the District and effectively teach complex concepts and train on the familiarity of the e-learning system. Monitor the achievements of the 7 districts and provide marketing strategies to help them to improve to meet their goals. Publishing of the region Website and ultimately responsible for its content. Analyze the progress of the Districts and strategize on how they can achieve their goals. Work with the Districts on their yearly budgets.
Responsible for 208 clubs and 4,500 members in The Bahamas and South Florida. Prepare the District budget and oversee the District’s financials in excess of a $100,000 budget. Monitor closely the progress of a 60 Member Executive Committee. Meet once per quarter with the Executive Committee to review goals and re-train the officers for their roles. Analyze the progress of the District and ensure success of the Members. Monitor the achievement of the District to ensure that we are meeting the goals that the Organization has mandated that we achieve.
Responsible for the education and training aspects for 360 clubs and 7,000 Toastmasters in the Bahamas and Florida. Organize two full weekend conferences for toastmasters to attend. Organize training sessions for incoming leaders of the organization to equip them with the tools to fulfill their new roles.
Responsible for the membership growth of over 6,000 members and 333 clubs in the Bahamas and South and North Florida. Marketing and selling the benefits of the Toastmasters program so that 43 new clubs were formed during this year.
