By way of introduction, my name is Benjalene Hanna, and I am a recent graduate of the BS in Environmental Science here at NSU. Additionally, I am planning to pursue an MPS in Environmental Science starting in August at Nova Southeastern University. I'm a double shark! I have a strong interest in Geographic Information Systems, Hydrology, Sustainability/ Conservation and Environmental Responsibility. My career goal is to one day educate Bahamians about the natural resources we posses in our beautiful islands and about preserving them. Moreover, I would like to find solutions and ways to mitigate some of the environmental challenges we face as Bahamians in order to positively impact The Bahamas. Moreover, I am organized and a dependable candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. Willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals.

- Worked in the Operations team for 2 years while completing my undergraduate program at NSU. While in this position, I was tasked to complete office duties such as organizing, answering and keeping track of emails, answering phone calls, setting up and breaking down for events and providing any assistance around the office. As a member on the operations team, I was in charge of ensuring that the clubs and organizations on the campus of NSU were receiving the assistance they needed, ensuring that the organizations had a room reservation for their club's events and the equipment such as tables, chairs, microphones, projectors etc. for their events as well.

As a summer intern I was given the opportunity to attend conferences/meeting on Climate Change and Mitigation in regards to the country of The Bahamas and how these challenges can combated. Moreover, I shadowed my mentor whom was a Sr. Environmental Consultants and the tasks she was given. Lastly, I was allowed to go on site visits of those who wanted to build on the desired locations and I was able to learn the various documents such as the Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Impact Assessments and , Project Management.
